IAN YEAGER stammt eigentlich aus Bloomington, Indiana, lebt aber seit längerem in der San Francisco Bay Area und hat dort Anschluss gefunden an die Experimental-Szene der Labels Pax & Edgetone und die Freaks des The Abstractions-Kollektivs wie Dina Emerson, Ernesto Diaz-Infante, Bob Marsh, Joseph Zitt, Rent Romus, Phillip Everett und Matt Davignon.Music for Guitar + Computer (PR 90273/igy001) ist sein erster Tonträger und zeigt ihn mit einem feinen Händchen für meditatives Guitarpicking, das beständig von feinen, granularen Elektro-Clicks und -Glitches gesprenkelt ist. Ein virtueller Zen-Garten aus Hightech und Seelenfrieden. Aus den Fingern und dem Laptop des 27-jährigen Gitarristen perlen Tonketten wie Regentropfen, wie eine sanfte Brandung, ein beständiges, immer leicht unregelmäßiges flüssiges Element, bei dem einem bewusst wird, dass Kalifornien nicht an den Atlantischen, sondern an den Stillen Ozean grenzt und zum Sehnsuchtshorizont des ‚Ostens‘ nach Westen blickt. Ähnlich wie die Pax-Kollegen Miba verkörpert Yeager das esoterisch angehauchte ‚Sunny California‘-Element, den silberfingrigen Traum von Morgenröte und Seelenruhe am hellen Ende der Pax-Skala.
